# AI Receptionist and CRM for Landscapers in Shreveport, LA

Landscapers in Shreveport work one of the longest mowing seasons in the country, with hot humid summers and mild winters, across a twin-city market that stretches into Bossier City, Benton and Haughton. Most of the money is recurring maintenance, so the business runs on answering new requests quickly and billing every route on time.

## Key takeaways

- We catalogued four established lawn and landscape providers; three focus on mowing and lawn maintenance.
- One bundles landscape maintenance, irrigation and fertilization with pest control, a sign of how much bugs matter here.
- Most of the lawn providers we found had no website of their own, so phone and text are how customers reach them.
- BRIX works remotely and has no Shreveport office.

## How long is the landscaping season in Shreveport?

Long. Shreveport's hot, humid summers and generally mild winters mean grass grows from early spring well into fall, and crews mow through heat that stops work in the afternoon. Heavy termite and mosquito pressure in the area also pulls lawn work toward pest treatment, which is why one local provider we found sells landscaping, irrigation and fertilization bundled with pest control.

## Who's mowing Shreveport and Bossier?

Shreveport has 187,593 residents (2020 Census) in Caddo Parish, with parts in Bossier Parish, and lawn crews run routes through Bossier City, Benton, Haughton, Keithville, Greenwood and Blanchard. We catalogued four established lawn and landscape providers from public directories. Three focus on mowing, lawn care and landscaping and were listed on a lead marketplace without a website of their own. The fourth bundles maintenance, irrigation and fertilization with pest control. No ranking or endorsement.

When most of a market has no website, the phone is the storefront. A missed call from a new homeowner in a Bossier City subdivision is a weekly mowing account for the whole season, gone.

## A season calendar for Shreveport lawn and landscape crews

**Shreveport lawn and landscape work by season**

| Season | Work | Office focus |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Late winter (February) | Cleanups, pre-emergent, bed prep | Renew last year's accounts, send season pricing |
| Spring (March–May) | Mowing starts, new installs, irrigation start-up, storm debris | Answer new-customer calls fast; this is when accounts are won |
| Summer (June–August) | Weekly mowing in heat, irrigation repairs, fertilization | Route changes, rain delays, recurring billing |
| Fall (September–November) | Mowing tapers, leaf cleanup, planting | Upsell fall services, collect overdue balances |
| Winter (December–January) | Light maintenance, tree and bed work | Bookkeeping, plan next season |

## What does that mean for phones and billing?

- **Spring call volume is the year's sales season.** Answering and booking estimates in March and April sets your revenue through October.
- **Rain delays create a flood of 'are you coming today?' calls.** A receptionist that can answer and text updates saves the crew lead from the phone.
- **Recurring billing must be automatic.** Forty weekly accounts across two parishes means invoices every week or month; manual billing leaks money.
- **Storm debris calls** after spring wind and hail are a bonus, if you can book them.

## How a Shreveport lawn company would run it with BRIX

1. **New request** A Benton homeowner calls on a Saturday asking for weekly mowing. The AI receptionist answers, confirms the address and lot size, and books an estimate.
2. **Quote and start** The estimate goes out by text; if it's not accepted, follow-ups go out automatically.
3. **Route** The account goes on the recurring schedule and the crew's route.
4. **Bill** Invoices go out on schedule with a payment link, reminders chase late payers, and QuickBooks stays in sync.

BRIX answers lawn and landscape calls 24/7, books estimates, follows up quotes, schedules recurring routes and sends invoices that sync to QuickBooks. It works remotely.

## Frequently asked questions

### Why do some Shreveport lawn companies also sell pest control?

The area has heavy termite and mosquito pressure, so lawn treatment and pest treatment overlap. One of the four established providers we catalogued bundles landscape maintenance, irrigation and fertilization with pest control.

### Can an AI receptionist handle rain-delay calls?

Yes. It can answer 'are you coming today?' calls with the update you set, reschedule if needed and text customers, so your crew lead isn't stuck on the phone.

### Do I need a website to get customers in Shreveport?

It helps, but most of the lawn providers we found had no website of their own and relied on phone and directory listings. Either way, answering every call is what turns a listing into an account.

### Where is BRIX based?

BRIX has no Shreveport office and works remotely. Landscapers set it up online and keep their own number.
