Editorial policy
By BRIX Editorial Team · Updated
Every page on brix.so is written to answer a trades owner's question accurately and in plain language. Numbers, tax rules, legal thresholds and prices come from primary sources that we link with the date we checked them. If we can't source a number, we leave it out.
Sources we use
- Federal agencies: the IRS, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Census Bureau, the Small Business Administration and the Department of Labor.
- State agencies: departments of revenue and taxation, contractor licensing boards, and workers' compensation boards.
- Vendor pages: competitor pricing and feature pages, always dated, because prices change.
- Trade associations and manufacturer documentation for technical rules of thumb.
Taxes, legal and licensing pages
Pages about taxes, licensing, liens, insurance or financing carry a visible last-reviewed date, link to the official source for each rule, and state that they are general information rather than tax or legal advice. We never state a tax rule from memory. We aim to have a credentialed tax professional review these pages.
Claims about BRIX
We only describe BRIX features that are available today. We don't publish made-up testimonials, customer counts, ratings or logos.
Comparisons
Comparison pages use each vendor's public pricing and feature pages, show the date we checked them, and say plainly where another product is the better fit. If you work for a vendor and see something out of date, email us and we'll fix it.
Local information
City pages describe the local market from public data. They never rank, review or endorse local businesses or suggest that any of them use BRIX. BRIX works remotely and has no local offices.
Updates and corrections
Each page shows when it was last updated. We re-check sourced figures at least once a year, and sooner for tax figures that change annually. To report an error, email eeharris2004@gmail.com.
