Housecall Pro integration: keep Housecall Pro, add BRIX's AI on top
By BRIX Editorial Team · Updated
BRIX connects with Housecall Pro, so your techs keep using the Housecall Pro app for jobs, while BRIX answers every call, follows up leads and open estimates, chases unpaid invoices and keeps expenses, 1099 subcontractors and sales tax organized. Housecall Pro's own CSR AI call answering is sold separately, with no price on its site.
Key takeaways
- Housecall Pro includes AI Team members on every plan, but 24/7 CSR AI call answering is a paid add-on with no published price (checked 2026-10-12).
- QuickBooks Online sync is listed from the Essentials plan and typically runs one way, from Housecall Pro to QuickBooks.
- BRIX works alongside Housecall Pro for calls, follow-up, collections and bookkeeping help.
- Pick one tool to send invoices to QuickBooks, so you don't get duplicates.
Can BRIX work with Housecall Pro?
Yes. BRIX connects with Housecall Pro, so you don't have to move your price book, your schedule or your techs' app. Housecall Pro stays where jobs get dispatched and done. BRIX handles the work that piles up around those jobs: the phone that rings while everyone's in a crawlspace, the estimate that went quiet, the invoice that's 30 days old, and the receipts that never got categorized. Which records pass between the two is set up with you at onboarding.

What does Housecall Pro include on its own?
Housecall Pro is a full field service app built around scheduling and dispatch. Its pricing page lists invoicing with automated reminders, 24/7 online payments, review management and job costing from the Basic plan up. Higher plans add more users and tools, and several products are add-ons sold separately.
| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Users | QuickBooks Online sync |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $59 | $79 | 1 | Not listed |
| Essentials | $149 | $189 | 5 | Yes |
| Max | $299 | $329 | 8 (+$35/mo per extra user) | Yes |
Housecall Pro's AI Team and CSR AI
Housecall Pro's AI Team includes CSR AI (a 24/7 customer service rep for calls and chat, with texts listed as coming soon), Analyst AI (answers about revenue and team performance), Coach AI (growth, pricing and hiring suggestions) and Marketing AI (drafts emails and campaigns). Its FAQ says Marketing AI, CSR AI chat, Analyst AI, Coach AI and Help AI are included on all plans, while CSR AI 24/7 call answering is a paid feature. The pricing page says "CSR AI sold separately" and doesn't list a price.
CSR AI books jobs onto your Housecall Pro calendar and can forward a caller who asks for a person to a number you choose or to a Housecall Pro Assist rep. Housecall Pro also lists an Accounting add-on in which "a dedicated team handles your books every month". If you want everything from one vendor and you're happy with those add-ons, that's a coherent setup.
Where BRIX fits alongside Housecall Pro
| Job | Housecall Pro | Housecall Pro + BRIX |
|---|---|---|
| Answer calls 24/7 | CSR AI call answering, sold separately (price not published) | BRIX AI receptionist answers, qualifies and books; missed callers get a text back within seconds |
| Estimate follow-up | Not listed on plans; Pipeline add-on mentions automated lead follow-ups | BRIX follows up every lead and open estimate by text and email |
| Invoice reminders | Automated reminders on Basic and up | BRIX politely chases unpaid invoices until the money is in |
| Reviews | Review management on Basic and up | BRIX asks happy customers for a Google review after the job |
| Books and taxes | QuickBooks Online sync (Essentials+); Accounting add-on | BRIX keeps expenses categorized, tracks 1099 subs and sales tax, reminds you of estimated tax dates |
| Custom workflows | Built-in features and AI Team | BRIX builds and sets up custom AI workflows for your shop |
Where BRIX earns its place is the open estimate. Housecall Pro's plans list invoice reminders, but not automated estimate follow-up. For a shop that sends a lot of replacement and install estimates, that's where the money leaks. See how to follow up on an estimate for why the second and third touch matter.
How Housecall Pro syncs with QuickBooks, and how BRIX fits
Housecall Pro's QuickBooks Online sync sends invoices, payments (including service plan payments), new customers and new price book items to QuickBooks. Its help center says the integration "typically functions one-way". Syncs fire when a job is finished (if you choose that trigger), when an invoice is sent, or when a job or invoice is marked paid, and take a few minutes. Changes to an invoice after its first sync, such as new line items or prices, need a manual push.
That last detail catches a lot of shops: the tech adds a part after the invoice went out, and QuickBooks still shows the old total. Whatever tool owns invoicing, build a habit of checking edited invoices before month-end.
A day with Housecall Pro and BRIX
7:40 a.m.: A caller with no hot water rings while the owner is dispatching. BRIX answers, gets the address and water heater age, and books the first open slot.
10:15 a.m.: Two estimates from last week haven't been answered. BRIX sends each customer a short follow-up text.
1:30 p.m.: One estimate customer replies with a question. The owner answers from his phone between jobs, and the customer approves.
4:50 p.m.: Techs close jobs in the Housecall Pro app as usual.
6:00 p.m.: An invoice from three weeks ago is still open. BRIX sends a polite reminder.
Month-end: Expenses are categorized, subcontractor payments are tracked for 1099s, and the books are ready for the accountant.
How to set up BRIX with Housecall Pro
- Walk us through your shop. Where calls go, how estimates are chased, who sends invoices, who does the books.
- Decide record ownership. Which tool owns customers, estimates, invoices and the QuickBooks connection.
- Connect the tools. BRIX connects with Housecall Pro plus tools like Google Calendar, Gmail, Slack and Stripe. Custom connections are built on request.
- Approve the rules. Call handling, follow-up timing, reminder wording and when something comes straight to you.
- Measure after 30 days. Calls answered, estimates won and days to payment, before and after.
When is Housecall Pro alone the better fit?
If you're happy buying CSR AI call answering and the Accounting add-on from Housecall Pro, your estimates mostly close on the spot, and your QuickBooks file is in good shape, adding another tool may not be worth it. BRIX makes the most sense when calls are being missed, estimates sit for days, invoices age past 30 days, and your books are always a month behind. Check what those leaks cost with the missed call calculator and the DSO calculator, and compare plan costs on Housecall Pro pricing.
