ServiceTitan alternatives: 6 options for shops that want out (or never want in)

By BRIX Editorial Team · Updated

The main ServiceTitan alternatives are Housecall Pro, Jobber, FieldEdge, Service Fusion, Workiz, plus AI-first tools that sit on top of or replace field service software. Housecall Pro, Jobber and Service Fusion publish prices and offer month-to-month billing; FieldEdge and Workiz quote prices. Pick by team size, whether you need QuickBooks Desktop, and how you want calls answered.

Key takeaways

  • Most shops look for a ServiceTitan alternative because of cost, the annual contract, or a long implementation.
  • Housecall Pro and Jobber publish prices from $59 and $29 a month (billed annually) and are easiest for small crews.
  • Service Fusion has unlimited users and month-to-month plans; FieldEdge supports QuickBooks Desktop on every plan.
  • Before you switch, line up data export, phone number porting and QuickBooks mapping.
  • ServiceTitan is still the stronger choice for large, multi-department shops that will use its depth.

Why do contractors look for ServiceTitan alternatives?

Most owners who search for a ServiceTitan alternative are reacting to one of four things: the price, the contract, the time it takes to get running, or the feeling that they're paying for a platform built for a much bigger company. Here's what the public record shows on each.

  • No published prices. ServiceTitan's pricing page says "Request Pricing" on every plan. Third-party estimates run about $245–$500 per technician per month. Full breakdown: ServiceTitan pricing.
  • Annual contracts. Third-party sources describe an annual or 12-month minimum, with user reports of 15–20% renewal increases.
  • Implementation. Reported at $5,000–$50,000+ and 2–12 months to roll out.
  • Add-ons. The AI Virtual Agent, Contact Center Pro and Marketing Pro are separate Pro products with unpublished prices.
  • Leaving is hard. Some users report trouble cancelling and exporting data, according to complaints cited by Projul (a competitor).

Housecall Pro: best for residential shops that want simple pricing

Housecall Pro is the closest like-for-like swap for a residential HVAC, plumbing or electrical shop that wants out of ServiceTitan. It publishes prices: Basic is $59 a month billed annually ($79 monthly) for one user, Essentials $149 ($189) for five users, and Max $299 ($329) for eight users plus $35 per extra user. It says it doesn't require long-term contracts, and there's a 14-day trial of Max with no card.

Where it falls short of ServiceTitan: Max tops out at eight included users before per-user charges kick in, and enterprise-style call center and reporting depth isn't its focus. Its CSR AI answers calls and chats 24/7, but call answering is sold as an add-on without a published price. More: Housecall Pro pricing.

Jobber: best for small crews that want the easiest start

Jobber is the friendliest option for a one- to fifteen-person crew. Core starts at $29 a month billed annually for one user, Connect at $99, Grow at $149, and Plus at $399 for five users. You can pay monthly with no commitment, monthly on a one-year commitment, or annually up front. Its AI Receptionist is a $29/month add-on, included in Plus.

Trade-offs: Jobber's newer QuickBooks Online sync is one way, from Jobber to QuickBooks, and Jobber doesn't sync with QuickBooks Desktop. Past 15 users or multiple locations, you're talking to sales. Jobber is built for simple residential and commercial service work, not a big membership program run by a CSR team. More: Jobber pricing.

FieldEdge: best if you live in QuickBooks Desktop

FieldEdge is aimed at established multi-truck HVAC, plumbing and electrical shops, much like ServiceTitan. Its three plans, Select, Premier and Elite, all say "Request Pricing", and price depends on team size and add-ons. The standout: every plan lists QuickBooks Online and Desktop integration. Its pricing page refers to annual memberships, offers no free trial, and says onboarding is included.

FieldEdge makes sense if your bookkeeper won't leave QuickBooks Desktop. It doesn't solve the opaque-pricing or annual-contract complaints, and its pricing page doesn't list AI call answering.

Service Fusion: best for unlimited users on a monthly plan

Service Fusion publishes prices and includes unlimited users on every plan: Starter $245 a month ($208 billed annually), Plus $382 ($325) and Pro $627 ($533). All plans are month-to-month, with about 15% off for paying annually. It integrates with QuickBooks Online and Desktop. ServiceCall.ai, its VoIP and call tracking add-on, has no listed price.

For a shop with lots of office staff and techs, flat pricing with unlimited users can beat any per-tech model. A 10-tech shop on Pro billed annually pays $533 a month no matter how many people log in.

Workiz: best for on-demand trades

Workiz targets locksmiths, garage door, appliance repair and HVAC shops that run lots of fast, same-day jobs. It no longer publishes prices: Standard, Pro and Ultimate all say "Request pricing". QuickBooks Online sync is on every plan. Genius Answering, sold separately, answers calls, emails and texts 24/7 and can live-transfer to your team. There's a 7-day free trial.

BRIX: best for adding AI to the phones and back office

BRIX is an AI secretary for blue collar businesses. It answers every call 24/7, books the job, texts back missed callers, follows up every lead and open estimate, builds quotes, sends and chases invoices, syncs with QuickBooks and keeps expenses, 1099 subs and sales tax organized. It also covers scheduling and dispatch, crew timesheets and a CRM. Plans are month-to-month.

Be clear on what you're comparing. BRIX doesn't publish pricing, so you'll need a call for a quote. It's a younger product than ServiceTitan and doesn't claim ServiceTitan's depth in memberships, configurable payroll or call-center reporting. Its strength is the work around the job: the phone, the follow-up and the books. It also connects with ServiceTitan, Jobber and Housecall Pro, so you don't have to switch at all. Side-by-side: BRIX vs. ServiceTitan.

When is ServiceTitan still the right choice?

ServiceTitan is still the better fit if you run 15 or more techs, have a dispatcher and a CSR team, sell a big membership program, and have someone who will own the system. Its pricebook tools, capacity-based booking, payroll and commission tracking, and reporting are built for that shop. If you're mid-contract and the platform works, the cost of switching mid-term is usually higher than the savings. In that case, keep it and fix the gaps around it.

Keep ServiceTitan, add BRIX's AI on top

Not ready to leave? BRIX connects with ServiceTitan. Keep the dispatch board and your techs' app, and let BRIX handle the work that slips: after-hours calls, estimates nobody followed up, invoices nobody chased and books that are a month behind. Decide up front which system owns invoicing and the QuickBooks export so nothing posts twice. Details: ServiceTitan integration.

ServiceTitan switching checklist

  1. 1

    Read your contract.

Find the term end date, auto-renewal date and notice period. Many annual contracts need written notice 30 days or more before renewal. Put the date on your calendar.

  2. 2

Export your data before you give notice.

Pull customers, locations, equipment, job history, open estimates, invoices, payments, memberships and your pricebook. Ask ServiceTitan support for the export format and confirm attachments and photos are included.

  3. 3

    Plan the phone number move.

If your business number runs through ServiceTitan's phone system, ask how to port it out and start the port with your new carrier before cancelling. Never cancel a phone service before the port completes, or you can lose the number.

  4. 4

    Map QuickBooks.

Decide which system will send invoices and payments to QuickBooks after the switch. Turn off ServiceTitan's export on cutover day so invoices don't post twice, and reconcile accounts receivable on both sides.

  5. 5

    Rebuild what matters, not everything.

Bring over active customers, open jobs, memberships with upcoming visits and your top pricebook items. Archive the rest.

  6. 6

Run in parallel for a week or two.

Book new work in the new system while finishing open jobs in the old one. Then lock the old system to read-only until your contract ends.

  7. 7

Tell your team and your customers.

Techs need the new app and a short training. Customers may see a new invoice or payment link; give them a heads-up.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest ServiceTitan alternative?

Of the tools here, Jobber Core has the lowest published starting price at $29 a month billed annually for one user, checked 2026-10-19. It doesn't include QuickBooks sync; that starts on Connect at $99. Housecall Pro Basic is $59 a month billed annually.

Is Housecall Pro or Jobber better than ServiceTitan?

For a small residential crew, usually yes: both publish prices, start in days rather than months and don't require a long contract. For a large shop with a CSR team, memberships and complex payroll, ServiceTitan has more depth.

Which ServiceTitan alternative works with QuickBooks Desktop?

FieldEdge and Service Fusion both list QuickBooks Online and Desktop integration on every plan. Housecall Pro's QuickBooks page also says it works with Online and Desktop. Jobber's current integration is QuickBooks Online only.

Can I get out of a ServiceTitan contract early?

It depends on your agreement. Third-party sources describe annual minimum terms with early cancellation penalties. Read your contract for the term end, notice period and auto-renewal date, and plan your switch around that date.

How do I get my data out of ServiceTitan?

Ask ServiceTitan support for a full export of customers, jobs, invoices, payments, memberships and pricebook before you give notice, and confirm the file format. Some users have reported difficulty exporting data at cancellation, so start early.

Can I keep my phone number if I leave ServiceTitan?

Usually, yes. Business numbers can generally be ported to a new carrier. Start the port with the new provider before you cancel the old phone service, and don't cancel until the port is complete.

Do I have to leave ServiceTitan to use BRIX?

No. BRIX connects with ServiceTitan, so you can keep dispatch and your techs' app and add BRIX for call answering, follow-up, invoice chasing and bookkeeping help.
